Back in the Renaissance, artists and musicians had Patrons who supported them in their arts in exchange for commissioned pieces or in order to support their political or social aspirations. Great artists such as Mozart, Beethoven, and DaVinci were patronized by the church to commission religious pieces.
In recent years, there has been a resurgence of this concept through websites like Patreon, GoFundMe, and other crowdfunding pages have put the opportunity back into the art lovers’ hands. As an artist who thrives not only on the emotional support of my Tribe, but also on the financial support in order to continue performing, I am grateful for such sites where it is possible for you, fans, family, and friends to help build a net and a network of love, support, and generosity not just for me, but for one another, as well.
If you love what I do and want to help support my art so that I can have the freedom to continue to produce music, perform, and travel to shows, there are several ways you can do that.
- Keep me in your thoughts and prayers! Raising three kids and working full time as a musician is exhausting at times. Sometimes I get discouraged and want to give up. It’s your prayers and positive energy that keeps me going.
- SHOW UP! There are few things in the world more fulfilling than seeing my Tribe at a show!
- SHARE. – Follow me on social media and share with your friends so I can connect with more folks who love good music.
- . SPONSOR/SUBSUDIZE/SUPPORT – Whether it’s a one time donation of a dollar or a small monthly stipend or a generous sponsorship of a show, your donations help keep the music alive for me and many others. Every dollar helps keep the music coming.
Each contribution comes with a thank you from me whether it’s a heartfelt email, merchandise, performances at special events, or a personal happy birthday call just for you from me, I am always ready to say thank you for your patronage.
